sobriety
Sobriety is when a person comes clean off drugs or alcohol and is able to live happy, healthy and comfortable. Sobriety is what a person establishes through a long road of pain, misery and eventually the power to stand up and defeat their addiction. It is not easy, it is not quickly but it is worth every tear shed in rehab.
Sobriety lets a person live clean, away from drugs and usually a person is awarded through-out their years of being sober, as long as they do stay sober.
Staying sober is very hard but there are ways to keep it together when you have left rehab and are no longer under someone’s watch. The first step however is realizing that after months of being watched and being told what you could do or could not do is over, you are now responsible for what you do and what you say yes or no too.
To stay sober you must first let older friendships and party buddies who still use drugs or drink alcohol go. Letting yourself be around these people means that you are letting the temptation of drugs or alcohol back in, which led to an addiction once and can lead to it again. To stay sober and to stay strong find new friends to hang out with, it is even possible through rehab that you have already found some new friends.
Temptations are everywhere and through-out life after recovery they can be seen in full swing. There are always ways to work around temptations no matter how strong they become. First and foremost, find a support person. A support person is there from day one of your recovery. They will be there for you no matter what time it is in the morning, no matter how they are feeling and no matter what is going on in their lives.
A support person can be a daughter, son, mother, father, friend, a grandparent or even your counselor from rehab. A support person is the main key to staying sober.
