recovering

recoveringRecovering starts by going to rehab where you will not be judged or treated as a weakling, because you are not. You are a person who took a path in life that lead the astray from the path they were supposed to take. This is something everyone goes through, our paths are not marked with big red targets and one decision leads to another and before long you start to wonder how your life got this way. It is human nature to find our own selves and sometimes we have a long rocky road to self-definition.

Recovering is lead by detox, which is the number one step in rehab and one of the most important. Detox helps to wash out drugs or alcohol from the body leaving a person to be able to think clearly for the first time in days, months or even years.

Once you have successfully passed the detox process you will meet with a counselor who will help you through the next steps of recovering such as group therapy, a 12-step program and the recognition of what caused the drug use to begin with. Once this process is over, your counselor will talk to you about the future and how to stay away from the addiction and temptation. When you leave rehab it is important to find new friends instead of old drugged up friends, if you do not you could find yourself becoming addicted again very fast.

Recovering will be a part of your life for the rest of your life. You will always find ways to recover this part of that part of your life and you will always wonder about the roads not taken. Recovery however it worth the time spent to get better for not only your friends and family but yourself as well.
