narcotics
Narcotics are prescription pain relievers written by a doctor to take care of pain from an injury, sickness such as cancer or pain associated from surgery. Narcotics are the most effective pain-relieving drugs and a lot of people are taking them in mass quantities without any pain.
Narcotics are prescribed to anyone who goes into a clinic, hospital or dentist’s office who complains of pain and the most commonly abused narcotic is heroin. Here are some other popular narcotic choices:
- Demerol
- Percocet
- Vicoden
- Methadone
- Morphine
All of these narcotics can be and are prescribed to people on a daily basis and among friends a prescription is shared which leads to an even greater problem with narcotics. According to research nearly 21 percent of people between the age of 12 and 45 have said that they have used pain-relievers without being in pain which is 5.2 million out of our population.
Another study shows that narcotics are the second most commonly used drug used in the United States, coming in at first is marijuana.
Prescriptions drugs/ narcotics should only be used when a person is in severe pain but a lot of people use them to feel high or to avoid stressful situations in life. Teens pick them up off their parents and take them to school, using them to get high with friends and avoid school work that is an important asset for later in life.
Narcotics are not toys yet so many people treat them as so, mainly because of an addiction to them though some people are not addicted at all, they just love the feel of being in a higher place. Adults who do drugs, take narcotics without pain and drink a mass amount of alcohol are only showing our children how to do it and one thing we can all learn about children is that they perfect the things we teach them.
