Drug abuse is a harsh factor in our society. People smoke, inject, snort and pop pills to get a high which leads to an addiction that nobody can break free of. It is most commonly thought of that drug abuse can be caused by social and economic issues in one’s life. If a person turns to drugs it is because something has happened to them to make them curious about it. Granted, we are all curious about drugs at some point or another in our lives. We wonder about them, are they as good as we’ve been told?
Drug abuse is a call out for help from people but many of us see it as a weakness that nobody wants in their lives. If a person is addicted to something and you can obviously see that, then they need help. All it takes is a phone call from an anonymous caller who is worried for someone else. If this person has children then there is even more reason to worry. If this person is your friend, then you are a great friend for calling. It is true, they will not see that in the beginning and may even reject you. That is the drugs talking, an addiction does not want to let go of its carrier. However, since they cannot speak for themselves you need to be their voice. When they graduate from rehab you will be the first person they look for, it’s a guarantee.
